Owner Sergey M.
Volzhskiy is a graduate of the St. Petersburg Mining Academy
in Russia with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. After
graduation, Sergey remained in St. Petersburg where he started
working on the reconstruction of many of the great palaces,
cathedrals and other historic landmarks. Sergey left Russia
in 1995 and in 1998, opened Artistic Hardwood Floors - a retail
showroom - in Buford, Georgia. He brings to America a great
creativity and knowledge about artistic hardwood flooring
from his 20 years of experience on the European floors in
palaces such as Marly Petrodvoretz, the Great Palace at Petrodvoretz,
the Mikhailovskiy Palace at Strelyna, and the Residential
Palace of Russian Tsar Peter III at Oranienbaum.
A member of the National Wood Flooring Association, Sergey
participates in many NWFA
events and is a current NWFA Partner in Education. His work
has been featured in Hardwood Floors magazine and he has had
many submissions to the National Floor of the Year competition.
